"TRUST: More Than A Feeling"
by Pastor Terry Bonner

The idea of trusting in God sounds great. But, is it always great? We know that God cares about us. Romans 8:28 says “All things work together for those that love God” but there are times when we don’t always feel like that scripture is working.
Trusting God is not an emotional feeling backed up by what we see because often our circumstances are telling us everything is bad.
It is a deep commitment to following God and having faith that He is truly guiding our steps whether we feel it or see it.
Jesus said in John 14:27, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid,” We always have His peace, but we don’t always experience it.
“Peace is a choice we make again and again”
It is something we choose to grab onto and wrap ourselves in.” The Word Peace means "Having No rage or havoc." When we are caught in the cycle of situations that are causing us to lose peace our minds are often raging and we have a sense of Havoc in our soul. Imagine if we approached every situation in life with a little patience and recognizing that if God is really in control and if the Word of God is true then we place it all in His hands.

"Give God time to do what Only God can do"
When You are not in control, then quit trying to control it. Learn to Surrender Your Control by
-
Letting Go: Release your grip on situations you cannot control. Trust God to work things out.
-
Finding Peace: Find peace in knowing that God is sovereign and in charge.
We say that we trust God but often we attempt to think our way out of our situation (Worry) and that causes us to:
-
Make bad decisions.
-
Say things we wouldn’t normally say to people
-
It weakens our faith level
-
It hardens us so that we are less sensitive to hearing the voice of God.
If we just Pause and give God time to do what God can do then it will probably work out.
